    1. 1. Use the suffix – er ( for comparative form) and suffix-est (for superlative form)
      1. Adjective and adverb of one syllable.
Tall quick clear fast

  1. Adjective that end in – y (2 syllable)
Busy easy happy heavy
Lazy pretty early lovely lonely

  1. 2. Use the word “ more—–“ (for comparative form) and the word “the most —“ (for superlative form)
    1. Most adjective and adverbs of two or more syllables.

Terdapat kata kerja yang secara lexical telah menunjukkan adanya makna comparative.
  1. prefer ………. to ………… : lebih suka ……. dari pada …….
    • I prefer watching TV at home to going out on Sundays.
  2. Would rather ……… than ………… : lebih suka ………….. dari pada …….
  • I would rather go to school by bus than taxi.
  • I like reading magazine better than reading newspaper.
  1. Like ….. better than ……….. : lebih suka  …….. dari pada …….
